Abbey Community Centre

Provides social and health care activities for a range of groups and ages.

A Moveable Feast is an Abbey Community Centre project that supports Arabic and Bangladeshi residents in Westminster to live healthier lives through community programmes. Offers cooking advice including a cookbook, nutrition advice, health engagement and in house weight loss programme. 11 week course (1 hour per week) for up to 20 participants, with a focus on behavior change for long term success. Run by the AMF dietitian in your workplace. Women only swimming and aerobic classes, Muslim men gym subscription as well as other services.

Arab Women’s Centre/Arab Family Centre

On an annual basis they run health talks to promote well being and healthy eating targeted at Arab women. They also aim to improve access to information and services and to raise awareness of NHS structures and services amongst the Arab community. The main goal is to support women's needs regarding health issues through translation materials and development resources.

Bengali Women's Group

Black and Ethnic Minority Diabetes Association
(BEMDA)

Raises awareness of diabetes and potential complications within the BME communities. Runs a juvenile diabetes project. Patient Support Groups sessions. Publications, including newsletter & Nutrition guidelines. Diabetes focused expert patient training for the management of the chronic condition. Healthy living initiatives, diet & physical activities; Drop-In & Advice Services; Diabetes-related research, studies & conference focus groups, education, training & workshops.
